Erica's Story

Feb 9, 2017 | by Donna Ruiz

I met Erica, one of our holiday program recipients, while she shopped for her children’s gifts. Throughout which she kept expressing such gratitude to all who donated toys and food for the families. Erica first learned of The Salvation Army while attending a resume writing workshop being hosted at their office. As she met the officers, they learned of areas where they could share help and hope, financial support, food, and encouragement. Erica shares “They were with me every step of the way during a very difficult time. I will never forget that!”

Today Erica is busy raising her family. She loves to be a bell ringer during Christmas season and is quick to encourage others to give back to the organization which has given her so much in the past.

Because of you – and many others across our community – Erica’s family would have a special holiday. This is what you are a part of, the work of the army each and every day, 365 days a year!
